Top ten List of Dr. Levine:

  1.   Encourage Research.

  2.   Require Pharma Cos. with foreign HQ cannot charge more in U.S. than in other countries.

  3.   Patent on any drug starts on the day the patent is given in any country.

  4.   Eliminate pharma salespeople.

  5.   Fix FDA advisory panel to eliminate conflicts of interest.

  6.   Eliminate dinners, paid speeches and other perks for doctors.

  7.   Allow pharmaceutical companies to sponsor CME courses.

  8.   FDA to certify generic drugs.

  9.   Restrict class action lawsuits.

  10.   Chief of FDA must agree to not work for pharmaceutical industry for five years after leaving position.

Dr. Evan Levine is a cardiologist in New York City and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center.
