CIOs can use trend insights from the 2018 Gartner CEO and Senior Business Executive Survey to deepen the enterprise’s discipline and commitment to digital business.
The 2018 Gartner CEO and Senior Business Executive Survey is part of Gartner’s research into CEO and C-level business executive concerns, priorities and attitudes toward technology-related issues. For this annual survey, 460 responses were collected in 32 countries during 4Q17, from leaders of companies with more than $50 million and 52% with more than $1 billion in annual revenue.
We welcome readers who are not end-user CIOs, as well, and hope they will get some value from this work, but they are not the target audience.
Digital business strategies have been progressing for several years. This year’s survey examined the depth of some of the changes. In particular it investigated the CEO’s perception of the involvement of the whole executive committee in the endeavor.
This year’s report starts with an assessment of CEO priorities and how they see the current business landscape. It is then structured around three CIO action areas. The extensive set of survey data evidence charts is deliberately included to help CIOs and others form their own deeper, prescriptive analysis and support further, more detailed action arguments.
